Instructional Technology
Instructional Technology provides support for implementation of the FISD District Improvement Plan, Campus Improvement Plans, Texas state technology initiatives such as the Texas Long-Range Plan for Technology: 2006-2020, No Child Left Behind legislation including Title II Part D, Technology Application TEKS, and the Technology Applications TEKS as embedded in content-area TEKS.
Instructional Technology performs the following activities:

Long range plan for technology in coordination with Technology Committee and the campus improvement committees including the Acceptable Use Policy

Scheduling district-wide training opportunities, campus-based staff development, and on-line staff development

Supporting classroom teachers in their use of technology and implementing the FISD adopted Technology Application: TEKS curriculum in their classrooms

Fostering information literacy and problem-solving through professional development

Purchasing licenses for district instructional software aligned to the Long Range Technology Plan, including Microsoft Office, E-Class, Accelerated Reader, Star Reader, Fluent Reader, Odyssey, Success Maker, and other age-appropriate productivity tools.
Works with curriculum and content area staff to determine instructional needs
Understands the technology applications TEKS, and works with teachers to implement them into the content and curriculum
Develop a scope and sequence for the TA TEKS grades K-8 to assist teachers in technology integration
Actively seeks grants that benefit Farmersville ISD students, teachers, and community
Maintains, upgrades, and repairs district computers, file servers, routers, switches, and phone systems
Provides technical support for software and hardware issues to FISD faculty and staff
