Welcome to Farmersville I.S.D.

Our purpose is to provide a well-rounded, quality education in a safe and orderly learning environment for all of our students. Because we realize that each student is unique, we offer a range of opportunities and activities to meet the many needs of our students, and we are proud that there is something for everyone! We would like to extend an invitation to the community to witness and support the activities and successes of our students.

 

As always, our first priority is the education of the Farmersville students. All of the FISD staff meet the highly qualified criteria and will use each hour of every school day to provide the maximum amount of academic learning time for all the students. Every minute is valuable in educating today’s children and tomorrow’s leaders. We strive to give our students the skills they will need to compete against anyone in the future global economy.

 

Along with every other public school in the state, FISD is tackling the testing requirements for the state of Texas. We are proud of our recognized district, two exemplary campuses - Tatum and Intermediate School, along with two recognized campuses - High School and Junior High School, as reported in the 2011 state accountability system. During the 2011-2012 school year the district, along with the rest of the state, will embark upon new state testing requirements. Grades 3-8 will begin taking the STAAR assessment while High School students will move from the TAKS to the End of Course exams. While state testing may be challenging, we will strive to find successful solutions to help our students achieve. We will not stop until the "good is better, and the better is best.
